Even before I started weight training I heard this ALL THE TIME and you have probably heard too!🤪 It’s 2019 and this is STILL a huge topic in our community, and I feel like it is something we are not addressing in a CORRECT way. . Ladies, I want you to START thinking of weight training as self-love 💕and a tool to build SELF-ESTEEM . If you didn’t already know overcoming challenges builds your self-esteem overtime, and weight training 🏋🏻♀is pretty HARD Lifting weights pushes you to your limits and being able to complete it or overcome something as difficult as that is always rewarding and raises your self-esteem mentally and physically🤗 . You will see PROGRESS over time as you continue to lift weights, and this progression allows you to SEE and PROVE to yourself, that when you set a goal you will get a RESULT and when you get the desired result it boosts your self-esteem, because you were able to achieve something and make positive changes!🥳👏🏾 . HERE IS A BIG PLUS‼️ Weight training can help you with depression! Weight training changes the brain 🧠chemistry, it releases endorphins which helps elevate ☝🏻mood. When you are in a positive mood it’s easier to get yourself out of a pattern of 🤐negative self-talk, which is a common symptom of depression. . Weight training has brought so many benefits into my life, it not only changed me physically but mentally 😌 that even if i looked like a man then WHATEVER! Jk 🤣🤣 But for real girls, your mental state of mind and self-confidence🧘🏻♀ is more important than how big your legs are. . Understanding the nature behind spot reduction is first understanding the 🧬human body and how it works in sync with CALORIES. The MORE ☝🏻calories you eat the HIGHER the chance of a weight gain, the LESS 👇🏼calories you eat the HIGHER chances of a weight loss.. pretty simple? . When you consume fewer calories it’s called CALORIE DEFICIT, in this state your body is not getting the calories it needs to perform all of its necessary functions, when this happens your body is like WOAH 😱I need energy! And since you aren’t giving it anymore calories it’s going to take it from stored fat. Once this happens you 💦LOSE weight and the fat starts to BURN! 🔥🔥 . And even once you start burning the fat you still CAN NOT determine or “target” where you will lose the fat, this is because your body is just going to lose OVERALL BODY FAT. In turn you will lose fat from all places and most likely from the desired place! 🥰 . Breakfast or NO breakfast?🤔 . What is intermittent fasting, and will it even work for you?🤔 . The first thing you need to realize is that this is not something NEW, people from all 🌎around the world and from different cultures actively practice fasting as part of their religion. . Second, this is NOT ‼️a diet, it is more of an EATING STRATEGY! It’s simply to restrict the amount of time you can eat. . By restricting the amount of time you can eat, you’ll most likely eat fewer calories, which will lead to WEIGHT LOSS 🙌🏻🥳 . In my experience, intermittent fasting works the best for people who work long hours or are always on the 🏃🏻♀go. . I personally like to do it the most when im on vacation. Why? Because it’s convenient😌 Since we want to wake up and enjoy the ☀day, we just skip breakfast and hit the road without having to worry about where we should go for breakfast. #TimeSaver We also get to save money💰and CALORIES! so that we can really splurge on dinner😋So it’s a WIN WIN! . The good thing about Intermittent fasting is, that you can choose how you want to split your eating/ fasting window ⏰depending on your work schedule. If you work the typical 9-5 job you can split your time by 8/16 which means you feed for 8 hours (12pm-8pm ) and then you fast for 16 hours (8pm-12pm next day ). . If you work a night shift just flip your time around. The timing of your 2 windows can be whatever suits your schedule. (I would suggest to start off with a 14/10 hr split and slowly extend the fasting window to 16 hrs ) . In the fasting time you can ONLY consume: water💦 / tea 🍵 /black ☕ #NoCalories . . 🔷Who could benefit from Intermittent fasting? 🔷 . ✅People with busy schedules ✅Non-breakfast people ✅People who enjoy BIGGER meals ✅People who have a hard time snacking (definitely me🙋🏻♀️ my middle name is “snack” 🤣lol ) . ‼️BUT REMEMBER‼️just because you have a feeding window does not mean you can binge on EVERYTHING in your 🤦🏻♀fridge! I had ZERO idea what I was doing when I started.... . Just like you or anyone else who is just starting out.... . I wish i knew when I first started hitting the gym.... . how important correct form was, in order to actually see RESULTS. . I thought that the harder I pushed myself the bigger my muscles would grow and the faster I’d get to where I wanted to be. If i only knew how wrong i was!🤦🏻♀ . This type of mentality not only hindered my progress, but it also made me frustrated😡angry, and annoyed at myself (which also slow down my progress ) . Fast forward ⏭6 years and countless books, trial and error, and helpful tips along the way... I FINALLY understood the importance of 🧘🏻♀body positioning, breathing, control, mind muscle connection, and speed to improve my physique and achieve my fitness goals 👍🏻✨faster! . You need to control you reps and keep them consistent throughout the entire workout! . 🔥Slow down your speed and really focus on the muscle you are working on. I am a fighter & I never give up😤 . I was scrolling through my phone last night & found this video that reminded me of something.... . This was my 7th and last show of the 2016 year (6th Pro Show ) and my 3rd show back to back. I placed 3rd in Naples, then 2nd in Palm Beach. I had been working my ass off and was a little upset with my 2nd place finish. My husband (my # 1 supporter💞 ) was even more upset, he almost told the judges to 🤬off 🙆🏻♀🤣 . I needed a 1st place win to qualify for the Olympia and I was sooo damn close🥺 I was discouraged, plus my mind & body were equally tired. This was supposed to be my last show of the season but since I was so close & i am so freakin competitive, I decided to suck it up & give it another shot.😤 My coach ⭐ @bestfitness01 and I decided to do the Fort Lauderdale Cup the following Saturday. The day before the show, during Check-ins I found out that a top Olympian athlete had entered the show last minute. I was like holy crap 🤯. I was so sure that i had absolutely ZERO chance to win this show against a big athlete like her😩. I decided to stop crying & bring my A game to the stage. The next day at prejudging, I was put in the center in first call outs and that night I ended up winning the show ( the only show I walked into that I thought i had absolutely zero chance to win ) ..... and i got qualified for the Olympia. . The takeaway of my story is:👇🏾 . Failing at things can really suck... But you must ALWAYS get back up and try again! Your mistakes, failures should be your motivation, not your excuses! . I have failed many many times in my life, but I have never given up. I never will. I keep pushing. Every single day. . If anyone would have told me a few years ago what i would be doing in the near future, I probably would have laughed and said “no way are you out of your mind!”😱 . #StoryTime I grow up in a small town in Hungary 🇭🇺, i didnt come from money or have any athletic background. Even my own parents didn’t believe i could make a good life for myself in America 🇺🇸 away from my home.(Nothing against them, i never held this against them ), they just simply don't like taking risks. I truly think that they were and still are the best parents i could EVER ask for❤ ) #TrueStory 👇🏾 I still remember my dad last words when i left my country : “My little girl, you will call me crying to send you money for plane ticket because you won’t even have enough money to come home....” . His words stayed with me FOREVER and I made sure i WORK HARD every single day to prove him & to myself that i CAN DO IT! . I knew i wasn't happy with where i was and I saw no reason why i shouldn’t give myself a chance so i decided to take the risk and leave. . I luckily found my passion and with a lot hard work i was able to turn it to my profession. In the past few years i became an ifbb pro & an online coach that has helped over 5000 women transform their lives! Last year i officially became an American citizen, but i still have that “ immigrant hustle “ in me (which probably will stay with me forever🙊 ) to prove that i am worthy to be living in this country🇺🇸. . Keep your gains while on vacay 💪🏽🏖 @yamamotonutrition Hitting your daily protein macros is not always easy just from whole foods alone, especially when you are on vacation and off your usual routine!🤪 . Vacation, competition or everyday life...one thing I always make sure to keep track of is my daily protein intake. I try to hit my daily goal consistently. I work too hard day in and day out for my muscles so i always have to make sure i feed these babies properly😌 . I always pack my Iso Fuji protein powder & FreaKer protein bars by @yamamotonutrition with me to make sure this happens with no stress😌 . This is how a day look like for me when on vacay: 🔹wake up early & train fasted (i like to get early starts to get the most out of every single day ) 🔹Quick 30-40 min hiit session (quick & efficient. I used to be so scared of getting fat on vacation.... . If traveling makes you anxious about falling off your diet then keep reading💁🏻♀️ . It is actually not that hard to stay on track if you are mindful with your decisions. Im going to share some tips that i think could be useful for ya😌 . 1⃣USE THE 80/20 RULE While on vacay, think 80/20. Eat fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins 80% 🥑🍇🍳of the time and indulge for 20% 🍔🍟🍦 I always carry a 1-2 servings of @yamamotonutrition protein powder + protein bars also by @yamamotonutrition (FREAKER 🍓 flavor is my favorite 😋 ) + 1-2 piece of fruits so i always have something healthy and clean to eat when the hunger hits my in the middle of the nowhere 🤣 #FailToPlanPlanToFail . 2⃣BE SMART WITH YOUR LIQUID CALORIES First and most importantly... Drink lotsssaaa water. Water helps flush toxins, prevent dehydration and helps to keep you feeling full between meals😌 Stay away from sugary cocktails, if you want to enjoy some drinks swap for vodka with club soda + lime or rum w diet coke (yes soda isn’t healthy but having 1 can here and there wont kill you, just enjoy yourself 😉 ) . 3⃣STAY ACTIVE Walk everywhere you can! Keeping your daily steps high burns a lot of calories while exploring new places & having fun! Plus you can save money on uber😝 I personally love to start my day with a quick 30 minute quick hiit session! It wakes me up and puts me in a good mood! I also find it better to get it over with in the morning so i can enjoy the rest of day without worry about gym open hours or other distractions😌 If my hotel doesn't have a gym i just google a gym close by! Most gyms have daily guest pass, sometimes free sometimes for small charge. Sneaky TIP: Act like you want to check it out before committing and most likely it will be free😝 . But MOST IMPORTANTLY☝🏾even if you do go overboard and indulge…don’t beat yourself up! You’re human! Just get back on track when you get home. #LifeIsShort #LearnToEnjoyIt . Can You Drink a Protein Shake On Days When You Don't Work Out?🤔 @yamamotonutrition Protein powder is NOT a “magic powder” or “secret recipe” to turn you into a bodybuilder🤪 . Protein powder is SIMPLY a supplement that can help you hit your daily protein intake! . So the answer is.... Absolutely yes!😌 You can drink protein shake on your rest days! . I normally like to replace up to one meal or snack per day with protein shake. More than that is not beneficial because your body requires a varied diet with nutritious foods. . The biggest advantage of protein supplements is NOT that they can build more muscle than any other whole food protein... but it’s CONVENIENCE! . Just because people understand the importance of eating a healthy, balanced diet doesn’t mean they always have the time or energy to do it🤯 Real life is busy, we dont always have time to sit down and have a nice well balanced meal🤪 I always have my ISO FUJI protein powder by @yamamotonutrition with me ( chocolate is my favorite😋 ) and when the hunger hits me i just mix it with water and i am fine until i am able to sit down to eat! When do you like to train.. MORNING or EVENING?🤔 @yamamotonutrition I personally prefer to hit the gym in the morning whenever i can! Even if it means that i have to get up pretty early! I consider myself as a morning person! I love to start my day active, it wakes up my body, both physically and mentally!( most of the time 🤪 ) Also the gym is less crowded! I hate wasting my time waiting for equipments🤦🏻♀ . I like to get in & out in less than 1 hour!😌 . I always recommend my clients to try to do the same (if possible! ) Training in the morning, before the rest of the world is awake gives you a chance to make consistent progress towards your gym goals. Also, it opens up the rest of your day to do the things you want to do. . Regardless of what time you train, what’s important is to make that time sacred. The downside of social media.... . ...it’s a platform that many people use to seek validation. . 📷 @kai york.official 💄 by @kornikamakeup The truth it that no matter what you do, how good your are, you cant control what others say or think of you! You cant make people like you, love you, accept you, understand you or validate you. . But the good news is that it doesn't really matter because.... the only validation you will ever need is YOUR OWN! . Live your life & do the things the way you want it not because someone told you how you should! People will always have something to say no matter what you do!🤷🏻♀️ . Social media is forcing us to compare our lives instead of appreciating what we have, which is why so many people are depressed..... We get exposed to so much shit in our everyday life. ( your exes new girlfriend, your best friends new car, your classmates fun time on Saturday night etc ) . The likes, the comments make us believe that we’re constantly in competition or have to level up to something. . We don't! . Use social media what its meant for, to connect with others & to educate yourself. There are so many good sides of it as well! Im grateful for social media because If instagram did not exist, i would not be able to talk to you right now! . Social media gives me a voice to able to speak to the people that want to listen. . My question is: Is social media doing more harm than good to us? What are your thoughts on this? 💭👇🏾
Do you have someone in your life....... . who criticizes you when you are starting to make healthier choices, eat healthier, exercise more etc?🤔 . “You’re going to the gym AGAIN?” . “How long is this going to last anyways?” . “One bite won’t kill you” . Im pretty sure that most of you heard these sentences before🙄 . I personally had to cut a lot of people out of my life because if this. . If you want to be successful you cant let these distractions get into our way! Simply let these comments just pass by your ear👂 like nothing happened 🤷🏻♀️ . When someone criticizes you, its pretty much almost always coming from their own insecurities or jealousy, and have absolutely nothing to do with you😤 You’re just rocking the boat they want to be on, and they don’t like it! . Whatever your goal is, whether it’s fat loss, weight gain, or building your body confidence....focus on the things that will bring out your healthiest, happiest self, instead of spending your time reacting to other people’s opinion about what you should do, what you should look like, what you should eat or wear🤪 .
