She is the heart and soul of the story. RON: Grandfather to Chloe, mid-sixties devoted to his family, typically the most responsible person in the room. DEBBIE: Grandmother to Chloe, early to mid-sixties devout Catholic, cancer patient/survivor currently undergoing chemo and raising her granddaughter as well as a parent to an addict. SETH: Late twenties early thirties struggling drug addicting suffering from the overdose loss of his wife and mother to his daughter. Despite his addictions, his love for his daughter keeps him fighting to get and stay clean. Jack: 45-60 Business owner that has a relationship with Ron, running a successful blue-collar small business. Principal: Mid 50’s public school principal with all the typical concerns of an administrator dealing with modern day issues of education. Roommate: Seth’s Halfway house roommate, 30 ish recovering addict that is going through the motions and embracing sober living. Doctor: Debbie’s doctor overseeing her cancer treatment. Male or female 45-50 Nicole: Chloe’s mother and a drug addict. Mid twenties Teacher: 30 ish Female Public school teacher with good intentions. Young Lady: mid twenties Friend of Nicole attending funeral service, also an addict. --
The City of Brockton lost a fighter last night... we had the honor of knowing and working with Mayor Carpenter over the years - he fought for progress in the opioid crisis, believed in the power of young people to affect change, and was a good man. We will continue to fight the good fight and to honor his memory.
